About 2-3 months ago we were requested to move a very fragile chandelier from a local store to a mansion in downtown Grand Rapids. We worked alongside a couple electricians to remove it and set it up at the mansion.
We built a wood U shaped carrying system with a U bolt in the middle and then moved it into a crate on wheels that we rolled into our trailer to transport it. We had lots of packaging around it so that it didn’t move while we traveled. We then used our carrying system to bring it into the mansion and hold it in place while the electricians did their work. It took all 4 of us to get it done as it weighed about 100-150 lbs and they ran into a few complications getting it electrically hooked up so we had to suspend this thing in the air for like 30 min as they figured out those issues. Our carrying system proved effective to accomplish this challenge.
It was a wonderful experience and now that mansion with this beautiful chandelier will be on the Heritage Hill tour coming up on May 18 & 19.

Customer brought in this sweet Gretsch guitar he was selling on eBay, and we helped him make sure it didn’t sustain any damage in its transfer to the buyer. It’s delicate items like these that we specialize in protecting and shipping, through the use of several different proprietary packaging methods. You can’t afford for something to happen to your collectibles!

Pak Mail Cascade recently shipped these luxury lamps which were an online purchase from a furniture store in East Hills, MI. We had the pleasure of helping them make it safely to their new owner in the Northern Plains. To make the trip, each lamp was double boxed, which consisted of bubble wrap, packing peanuts, glassine paper to protect the leather finish, and cardboard edge protectors to reinforce the structural integrity.

A local Ada/Cascade resident stopped into our store last week to ship some personal items that belonged to her late sister, whom unfortunately passed unexpectedly. There were several large boxes of fragile/delicate items, and of course plenty of emotions. Most of these collectibles were packaged with care individually and then carefully placed into a freight box, where one of our LTL partners transported them down south to their new home(s).

A young man was referred to us through a friend, since they knew we offer packaging of delicate items. The best method to protect this prize catch was a calculated mixture of double corrugated cardboard, zip strips, wire, and packing peanuts. The customer ended up not sending it common carrier, and instead opted to have it in the car with him during the move.
